I love the sunshine, I hate the heat.
I love the green, I hate the pollen.
I love thunderstorms, I hate humidity.
You get the idea. The unpleasant threat of a tornado last night was made up for by this beautiful day we're having. It's the kind of day that makes me want to throw on my bathing suit, lather on the sun screen and sit outside and soak up the rays (but I'm not going to because I'm in fear of the sun after yesterday's mole-removal situation). So I did the second best thing that you can do on a sunny, 70 degree day. I made lemonade! With strawberries!
I adapted Paula Deen's recipe (I cut down the amount of sugar in the drink and threw in the strawberries)
You will need...
1 3/4 -2 cups of sugar (depending on how sweet you like it!)
1 cup of hot water
2 cups of fresh lemon juice
1 gallon of cold water
1 lemon, sliced
In a 1 gallon container, place sugar and hot water, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and cold water. Stir until well mixed. Dice a strawberry and put it at the bottom of your glass; pour the lemonade over the diced strawberries. Garnish with a strawberry and lemon wedge.
